HelpPay sought a trusted and scalable solution to verifying Australian billing companies in way Australian consumers and the business communit would trust, and found the perfect partner in BPAY and BPAY's API offering.
HelpPay's promise to Australian consumers is that when a payment is made via the HelpPay app money paid only goes to the company that issued the bill, not a personal bank account. In order to make that promise a reality options were explored to verify details about Australian businesses and bills provided were genuine, in order to deliver a great experience Australian consumers can trust.
HelpPay initially explored options ranging from purchasing company databases and call-centre verifications, and it was through exploring many options, the perfect solution became clear: BPAY's APIs.
"It was a no brainer for us to choose BPAY and their APIs HelpPay" says HelpPay's Managing Director and Co-founder Andrew Ellett, "BPAY's trust and recognition with Australian consumers and business, coupled with their technical offering was a natural fit for what we are striving to achieve with HelpPay".
Ellett continued, "HelpPay's promise is that when payments are made towards a bill the payments only ever go to the billing company that issued the bill, not the personal bank account of the person asking for help. Australians need absolute confidence in the way we handle their payments and ensure our promise to them is fulfilled, BPAY API's provide that confidence and trust".
BPAY's transition to an enabled and platform with API's was spearheaded by its CEO John Banfield. Joining BPAY in 2014, John drove and lead the direction taking BPAY from one product to a suite of APIs which has made its offering more flexible and accessible than ever. BPAY's APIs now power many new FinTech companies in Australia, and it's all thanks to BPAY's culture focusing on innovation, customer and excellence at its core.
Speaking to BPAY about the partnership Andrew Ellett said “We're creating a social FinTech,” Ellett says. “We've built a mini-Facebook within this app so you can do in-app bill sharing and payments. Essential to any new company is trust and a promise that's never broken, BPAY APIs are a core enabler of that promise."
Of the BPAY partner, Andrew Ellett says "We worked very closely with BPAY's engineering teams and realised we could go faster and embed Australian consumer trust with BPAY, it was a natural fit, and frankly a no brainer to utilise BPAY's offering." Ellett continued that "BPAY has been pivotal for us to bring HelpPay to market and the wonderful offering we have for everyone in Australia right now, BPAY is a true partnership."
