Live in Victoria? Claim your free $250 electricity bonus
For Victorian households, the $250 Power Saving Bonus is a one-time payment of $250 that is intended to reduce cost-of-living pressures and encourage consumers to compare energy packages and save money. The application period is from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.
All households in Victoria who visit the Victorian Energy Compare website or use an energy affordability service provided by one of the collaborating community outreach partners are eligible for the Bonus.
Each householder is entitled to one $250 Bonus payout once.
Who can get the power bonus?
The $250 Power Saving Bonus is available to all Victorians households. In order to claim the bonus the electricity account holder for the Victorian household will need to:
Have a recent residential electricity bill
Visit the Victorian Energy Compare website or engage with an energy affordability service through one of our participating community outreach partners.

When can eligible households submit an application for the $250 Victorian Household Power Saving Bonus?
Households that qualify can apply for the $250 Power Saving Bonus right away. The application period is open from July 1, 2022, until June 30, 2023. All households in Victoria who visit the Victorian Energy Compare website or use an energy affordability service provided by one of our collaborating community outreach partners are eligible for the Bonus.
When does the Victorian homes' $250 Power Saving Bonus expire?
From July 1 through one of our partnering community outreach partners, all Victorian households can apply for the new $250 Power Saving Bonus by visiting the Victorian Energy Compare website or using an energy affordability programme.
The programme is expected to continue through to June 30, 2023 but there's no reason to wait. With increasing prices across electricity, gas, food, petrol, rent and mortgages, as well as increases in many other costs - why wait? Claim your bonus now.
